Two Worlds of Expertise and Experience

I am Brian Haacke, and I am an expert in sales, strategy, systems, and solutions architecture.

During this time of rapid technological change occurring inside a truly global economy, I have found myself in a unique position of authority.  My early technical background in engineering and software development has granted me insight into system architecture, design, and implementation.   My years of experience and education in sales, strategy,  team management and executive development has allowed me to excel at implementing new business models, global collaborations, customer relations, increasing enterprise value, and more.

In short, I have the technical know-how to understand systems, the corporate know-how to understand business, and the innovative experience to bring them together.

Sales Director, Business Strategist, Solution Architect

A great deal of my unique skill set can be attributed to the winding path of my professional career.

1998-2002: A Foundation of Engineering

I graduated from Mohawk College with a diploma in Electronic Engineering Technology, and continued to self-study software development everyday through practical application, books, internet and elective courses in Object Oriented Design and Java programming.  In 1998 I started my career providing technical support and customer care at Spicer Corporation where I had the opportunity help the founder Steve Spicer build the technical foundation for a new web-based company called PrinterOn.  In 2000 I moved over to MatrixOne providing technical leadership as part of the professional services group to the ‘tiger team’ who handled the most critical customer projects.

2003-2006: The Transition to Business Solution Architecture

Having shown grace under fire, I was promoted to Program Manager/Solution Architect, to handle a multi-million-dollar project for a high-profile international client, providing cross-functional leadership between the Japanese management team, the North American R&D organization, and the international on-site consulting team.

This was my first time at the head of such a project, coordinating so many teams on opposite ends of the world, but by combining my team management skills learned as a technical lead with my systems architecture knowledge from my technical training, I was able to excel in the position.

To remain competitive and in order to transition from technical to business roles, I became involved in an ongoing Executive Development Program through the Aji Network, completing a Business Professionals Course, and then continued with their leadership program which I work with to this day to keep myself on top of the latest research in leadership, entrepreneurship, innovation, and competitive strategies.

My performance earned me a number of internal awards and accolades, and paved the way for my next step.

Execuitve Leadership and Advisory Boards

2009-2012 Perimeter Innovation, Executive Leadership

Through Perimeter Innovation, I was able to apply my work experience and executive studies, to a number of major corporations, including Omni-ID LTD., Dynamic eHorizons Inc., and Celestica Inc.  By offering strategic direction and leadership, I successfully helped high-value clients transform cost centers into revenue generating services,  improve enterprise value for asset acquisition, and to integrate newly-acquired companies into existing systems.

Advisory Board Work

I also began to serve advisory boards, supporting business planning and business partnerships for first Atmospheric & Space Technology Research Associates, LLC, and eventually Magnetic Resonance Innovations, Inc. where I am currently still an active member advising on strategic planning, developing new business models, fund raising and helping them thrive in today’s ever-changing business environment.

Non-Profit Volunteer

To further lend my expertise and services to the medical community, I am a volunteer board member of the MRI Institute for Biomedical Research, serving as Vice President in the Waterloo-based non-profit federal medical research organization.
My success at all of these endeavours found its roots in the integration of solution architecture into my management skills, complemented by my ongoing studies of corporate business, finance, and sales.

Industry Leadership

2012-Present Indusry Leader at Dassault Systemes

Recognizing my success with Perimeter Innovation, Dassault Systèmes brought me back as Global Sales Director of their High Tech Industry group, where I could help them develop industry specific solutions, sales leadership and grow the overall adoption of their 3DEXPERIENCE platform worldwide.

Creating Value with the Dassault 3DEXPERIENCE platform

Much like myself, the 3DEXPERIENCE platform is an exciting integration of architecture and business solutions. It uses multi-platform technology to provide seamless globalized collaboration, and makes the dream of Design Anywhere Manufacture Anywhere (DaMa) business a reality.

The 3DEXPERIENCE platform is a perfect reflection of my business philosophy of utilizing principles of technology to inform and enhance business management—a philosophy which has allowed me to successfully run large-scale business projects that span across time zones, cultures, and even languages.

This platform is a powerful tool with applications that span the scope of product development from innovation through design, engineering, manufacturing, supply chain and sales and marketing.  But well beyond that, the platform has the power to facilitate the involvement and contributions of scholars, experts, professionals, and visionaries to collaborate and realize exceptional scientific, humanitarian, and scholarly breakthroughs.
